Introduction

Well after lurking for a few days, I decided to join up. My brother-in-law and I have been getting in to cigars recently after he bought a sampler from a not so popular online source. Being from Vancouver Canada, it is hard to find decently priced good smokes (at least that has been my experience). Selection isn't a problem if you are willing to drop $20-$30 per stick.

I have a 150 count humidor with the heartfelt industries beads seasoning, but I have a small desktop humidor with some sticks I bought to tie me over. My desktop humidor contains a couple of CAO MX2 which I have heard good things about, but haven't tried yet. I also have a Don Tomas Maduro as well as another Don Tomas offering which is lighter (can't recall the name). I have smoked those in the recent pass and they seemed okay. I have also tried a couple diffeent offerings from Macanudo which were good. Looking to learn a lot and try some decent sticks over the coming weeks/months.

You've definitely come to the right place when it comes to expanding your knowledge, your chances of try out assorted sticks you may never find, and just kick ass folks. You should also check out the Newbie Cigar Sampler, which is something even I've participated in, and you can't go wrong. Even some Brothers up in Canada who are willing to help you out as far as my memory recalls.

Welcome to it, and if you ever get bored, and find yourself in Washington State, say hi and come have a cigar. :)

CAO, Don Tomas, Macanudo....must have been Thompson Cigar. The CAO is ok, shitcan the other two from any future rotations.

Thanks for the info Will. All of the above came from a local cigar shop. My brother-in-law did indeed order from Thompson, but it was some sort of "sampler" and I haven't been impressed with it thus far.

What are some of your favorite every day smokes? I'm willing to go out and pick some up to try.

As for the smokes, I would get in on the Newbie Sampler, there are indeed Canadian sponsors who can hook up an amazing sampler for you! As for the everyday smokes it's whatever I have in my humidor that strikes my fancy.

Check out the posts, there are a lot about "good cheap smokes" or "everyday smokes". You can use the search to filter out exactly what you are looking for!

As of today you can still ski out to the base of Blackcomb and the base at Whistler Creekside and Whistler Villlage. A few of the chairs have closed for the season though. Haven't been up this year at all though.

I have sent a message to the "now up" person Drew_Goring re: the newbie sampler. Still waiting to hear back. Seems like a great way to go.

I will check my humi tonight and if it has stabilized, I will be buying some Padrons!!
