It is celebrated, but not to the extent it is here.
More a Catholic holiday. Mass, Family dinner followed by a few drinks.
Not a boozefest as it is here. They have in recent years started having a rather large
parade in Dublin. A Parade increases the drink factor 10 fold.
In Northern Ireland it (where I'm from) it is rather low-key do to the political climate.
It will always be a battle a day between those who want maximum change and those who want to maintain the status quo.

Happy Saint Patties Day! Having a traditional dinner tonight. Corned beef carrots onions red potatoes, Irish soda bread, and an Irish Apple Cake.
Just another day at the office!
Every bar inn town boozed up idiots that then took to the road. Interesting night here. Multiple crashes and fights. One asshole got drunk and decided he wanted to kill himself. Took a 44 mag out of his car parked at the bar. He attempted to shoot himself in the head.
Well he missed...Kind of. He shot high. The muzzle blast burned the hair of the top of his head. He then went home. After a small standoff we got his dumb ass out unhurt.
Think next year I'm gonna take St. Paddy's Day off.
