Off to Cape Cod Friday for a vacation that was shortened by Sandy.
Friday:
Took a walk on the beach after our arrival smoking a Gurkha Status toro that had to be drawpoked. Very mild with little flavor through the first half, then a bit stronger and sweeter. After dinner, went outside for a Gurkha Blue Steel torpedo. Fairly strong smoke that got better tasting in the final third. I need to smoke both again for further analysis.
Saturday:
Morning smoke was a Gurkha Viper churchill finished at the beach-mild but very tasty at about the halfway mark. After lunch a Gurkha legend toro special ops- this was especially good. Finished the day with a Pinar Del Rio reserve limitada selection '10. Very nice way to end the day.
Sunday: decided to go home and see what Sandy was up to. Had a Gurkha legend havana selection robusto while loading the car for the trip home. Good smoke. Got home late afternoon and battened down the hatches in preparation for Sandy while smoking a Gurkha double maduro double rothschild.
Today: Out after lunch and had a Sancho Panza toro that has been aging a few years.
