Me either. I hate them all equally..........

I've worked with all different platforms and each has it's advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I think anybody unwilling to learn new OS's is limiting themselves more than I'm willing to. While I'm no aficionado of Linux/UNIX (I suck at programming/scripting), I know my way around them good enough to work with them. The first computer I ever put my hands on was a Mac and within two weeks I was so far ahead of the class it wasn't funny because it made sense to me and I was able to learn more on my own than I could with the instructor's help. But then I've always been a quick study on most things and have always been willing to learn.

You (a generalization to make my point) started with whichever OS and hung out with other people who used the same OS. They all "hated" the other guys so you decided to "hate" all the rest too. Mostly because you didn't know the other OS's and learning them would take time that you didn't want to spend. It's not that you couldn't, it's that you didn't want to because each has it's own learning curve and some curves are much longer than others. Linux/UNIX used to be prime examples of a longer learning curve. But now with Linux versions like Ubuntu they've become very user friendly and therefore very much like MS and the learning curve has dropped somewhat from what it used to be. I've always been tickled by the fact that the fanatic Linux/UNIX crowd that hate MS have spent so much time and effort making their favorite OS more MS-like. It's a humorous irony that always makes me smile.

I've been unhappy with MS many times.....hell, I've been working with them for most of 20 years so that's unavoidable.....but hate them? Hate Linux/UNIX? Hate Mac/Apple? Hell no, life's to short and that would be a grand waste of time. Besides, I enjoy change and new challenges and pity anybody who doesn't.
So - I do basically agree with all you're saying and have worked with all of the platforms you mention (including Apple, back in the day). My experiences predate CPM, but I did eventually work through CPM and graduated to DOS. I do believe there is some validity to being part of a "crowd" that likes a certain operating system (I was in various computer user groups many moons ago - and heard/saw the debates). I have noticed in recent times it carries on - you're either "Android" or you're "iOS", but not both... I even see folks evangelizing, trying to convince folks one is better than the other (It's rather comical, actually). But - personally - plain and simple - I dislike certain operating systems (choose one over another) because I don't like the way they do what they do - good, bad or otherwise.

I still primarily use MS (work) - spend a fair amount of time in iOS (play) - AND - use Linux/UNIX when it serves my purpose (mostly work - I've kinda moved away from my "hobby" use)...

I agree. For work, we have PC's and Surface tablets. Perfect for our needs, everything works together seamlessly in the office and while in the field or truck.

For play, the wife and I have iPads for in the kitchen and on the couch or deck.

Raced a couple career races tonight on Forza. C class is REALLY slow! I'll stick to A and S classes for multiplayer.

I'm still running Windows XP. My laptop stopped working years ago, it's running XP too and I swear there is some Microsoft conspiracy out there to fock with anyone like me who's still running XP because it used to work great when it was new and now, it's terrible even after having my hard drive wiped every six months. I have no idea what "Windows ME" is. Is that Windows 8 or something?

I tried using the Mac or Apple or whatever it is down at Town Hall and all it did was piss me off. I'm not a graphic designer so I pretty much have no use for Apple/Mac stuff.

I don't have a "tablet" or one of those damn smartassphones with a touch screen because with my cold, calloused fingers, I can't get any damn touch screen to work properly (especially any ATM) and I'm not wasting money on a "tablet" that I will wind up smashing a half an hour after I buy it.

I refuse to play games on computers, I waste enough time on cigar sites and don't have enough time in life to do the things that take priority over playing games on computers (which I think is just about everything).

I thought XBone was X Bone so like badwhale said, I thought it was a porn site.

Sorry, I guess I just don't have much to add to this discussion.

    Damn, you must be old!

I missed out on CPM and started in DOS........but then, I was a late bloomer and didn't get into computers until I was already 30 so that could be why too.

I'm stuck using MS as my main OS at home because I do enjoy gaming on my computer and most games just aren't ported to Linux. I still have a Linux box, and XP box and a UNIX box running in my home office. Each serves it's function. The UNIX box is a router/firewall, the Linux box a server and the XP I just kept around because it's my old gaming rig and I can't just toss it after all the years and upgrading so it's my TeamSpeak server........LOL

I have issues with each OS. If someone could magically combine all the best features of each together into one, I think we'd have a winner. Better yet, give me the OS they use in the computer on Star Trek!
