Favorite Cigar Bands

One of the dimensions of cigar smoking that I enjoy is the myriad of bands that are out there. Some of them have a classic feel (Fuente), while others can be appreciated for a simple, yet bold statement (Cohiba), or finely detailed artwork (Gurkha).

That being said, I was wondering if anyone out there has a favorite or two, even if the cigar itself sucked, or you haven't even smoked it yet?

My current favorite (which I have smoked) is the Gran Habano. The design itself reminds me of medieval Spain (actually, Iberia I think would be the proper term) while the colors of the band and the corojo wrapper do a great job complementing each other...Damn, I'm such a nurd!

in my limited experience (meaning only the sticks i've got in the humi right now..) i like the 5 vegas A's band the best, its big and caught my attention right away

You gotta love that great big X on the Opus X. Sounds forbiddend or reminds you of seXX.

Have a couple but haven't smoked one yet.. Willpower or am I just afraid of it? you decide....

I am scared of smoking the "power rangers" I have! hahha

I'll put in a vote for the Maria Mancini (NC) and La Escepcion (NC-2004) bands, simple, traditional and elegant.

An EL band on any cigar looks fantistic to me.

5 Vegas A's, Ghurka, and Rocky Patel Vintage. I think Ashton's band could use improvement. Looks cheap. But i am usually chewing on the band before i get a good look at it. Anybody else eat the band before they smoke the cigar?

AVO's are worse. I liek the all gold Hoyo bands those look real flashy, impressive when the other person does nto smoke cigars. I like the gurkha's intricate design but its awful imconvenient to smoke with it on.

Too flashy and "hip" bands turn me off immediatly.

Handmade cigars should have handmade bands! haha

I personally like the 5 Vegas series looks. All 3 of them the black, gold and, red band. I've always appreciated that old school, vintage look that Punch, Artuero Fuente, Romey Y Julieta, etc. etc. have with the red look and gold and black artwork. Just my .02

I like the Padron "thousand" bands. Simple, effective. I want the money going into the cigar; I don't smoke the band (most of the time) so why should I care what it looks like?
