    I did read the posts. I give people the benefit of the doubt. Many things can be misconstrued online, and a lot of people overreact.

    This guy is a newbie. He started out smoking horrible cigars and hence goes to a cigar forum to attain knowledge from BOTLs and FOGs here.

    It's like we have a double-standard here. We tell newbies to have a thick skin from replies here, and yet BOTLs and FOGs get so offended so easily by newbie first posts or remarks.

    I'm just saying I don't think he has "that" negative of a tone as other's perceive his post to be. That's just me. Hard to be too mean to someone I don't even know.

    Awaiting the burns for defending a newbie.

    i never look down on a newbie smoking crappy sticks. i started off on phillies, so i'm not pointing fingers. his tone is what i'm concerned about. i don't like people who talk like they have something to prove.

    C'mon guys. Read the thread "hello." Did he not say thanks for suggestions and say he was gonna try them out? Sarcasm and humor can be confused. Lay low for a while. If he's an asshat, he'll show it soon enough. What's the rush?

    Funky, I'm with you on this one... good post.

    You're right time will show asshatness. I'll lay off
    But I am sticking with my statements from earlier in the thread.

    I will not shave my face until this situation is resolved.

    i had my first enjoyable cigar tasting experience earlier this year in april when i went to indo. bought six cigars for the trip on a whim. enjoyed every last puff, especially the last 3 inches of the mac's. after my stash of mac's and assorted others ran out i ended up smoking an extremely cheap local brand that was the same size as my pinky finger and came in a pack of 10 . needless to say i had ten profound moments of regret all having me relive the moment a few weeks earlier when the cashier at the local cigar shop asked, "will that be all?" when faced with the choice between slow death by noxious fumes or a monkey clawing at my eyes with one hand out whilst holding onto my hair by the other, i had to go with abstinence for the rest of my three month stay on that lovely island. it actually didn't end up so bad as with every urge to puff i began to get full body massages which were quite cheap. that fixed me up right quick.

    thoughts of perfumed cigar smoke lingering in the air and the light lip and head buzz that accompanies a solid drag, were forgot on my return, never to bubble to the surface until the eventful afternoon i decided to return to the forum at which i conducted my research on which sticks to purchase nine months earlier. and so we have come upon this message, which was literally squeezed out of me by harrassing posts, bordering on verbal and emotional abuse. you bottle and stick throwers should all be proud of yourselves...

    ::bows out::
    I can't imagine anyone on here recomending Macs. If he likes 'em, good for him. If he did his homework like he said, then he would know that not many people on here, if any, care for Macs. He's been offered some good suggestions on mild smokes. His sarcastic posts along with their content(macs) are the reason a lot of FOG's are smelling asshat / troll. We'll see.
