    Default Brand new here

Just joined yesterday. Looks like some of the same kind of thuggery goes on here just like some other places. You know a few jerks that can't disagree with someone without the personal recriminations. Bottom dwellers I hope don't rule the roost here as on other sites. Gonna have a good time anyway I believe. Howdy-all.

Given the lack of specificity in this very first post of yours, I'm having a tough time knowing to whom you are referring with your remarks on thuggery and jerks.

Post up something about yourself, back off the judgements until you know wtf you're talking about, relax and have a good time.

    Welcome from Texas.

Nice intro . Actually we try to keep the "thuggery" off this board. Since you just joined yesterday, I doubt you a have a clue about the people on this board. Why don't you read up a little more. If you feel like this is the place for you, post your own introduction... or don't.

Well ladies and gentlemen, I don't know for sure, but I am starting to get the feeling that we may be getting bombarded by a troll.

Perhaps a recently excommunicated non-contributor or an asshat in the mist??

Nothing concrete. Just a nagging suspicion.

    YMMV

I don't think noobs get treated badly here. If you come here with a good intro, enjoy the disussions and get some cred and rep, you'll do fine. If you come here with a shitty attitude, pissing all over the place, stinking the joint up with stilted posts littered with mistakes obvious to any six-year old that is taking the three R's, you'll get your asshat handed to you.

I was thinking the same thing as Basil and WOXOF. This probably isnt a good thread for you to use to introduce yourself, hoodere. Post your own intro, fill out your profile and stick around a bit. I'm new myself and I can say just about everyone here has been helpful.

I will step forward and witness.
As a month and a half noob here, I have been greeted with nothing but welcomes. The guys on this board are completely logical and friendly. Come humble until you establish respect and there shouldn't be a problem.
Just cause your the evening supervisor at Abercrombie and Fitch doesn't mean you can come to this board and expect to see people kissin your butt. Be humble, that's all.

This is an excellent example for us noobs on how not to get on everyone's bad side. I'm not sure exactly what was going on in the first post, but the following few responses determine it. Things I've learned from this and other posts:

    1. Don't insult, intentionally or not, anyone on the board who's been here longer than you.
    2. Until well established, don't say anything that can be seen as sarcastic/demeaning.
    3. If you realize you've broken rule #1 or #2, immediately apologize and make nice.

(Hopefully I'm not breaking any of these rules myself right now. )

PS. I also have so far been treated very well and made to feel welcome.

I couldn't agree more with your last statement. Some people are just socially retarded. From my experience at university and meeting many people I have found this to be much more common than I would have ever expected.

I read through the whole thing again. Personally, I think the asshat in that thread was hoodere.

thoughts of perfumed cigar smoke lingering in the air and the light lip and head buzz that accompanies a solid drag, were forgot on my return, never to bubble to the surface until the eventful afternoon i decided to return to the forum at which i conducted my research on which sticks to purchase nine months earlier. and so we have come upon this message, which was literally squeezed out of me by harrassing posts, bordering on verbal and emotional abuse. you bottle and stick throwers should all be proud of yourselves...

Verbal masturbation. I mean, do you have to do that here?

He asked me make a Newbie Sampler trade with him. I told him to fill out his profile, post a real intro, stick around for a little while, and maybe I would trade. He hasn't taken any of the advice.

honestly dvm, after taking all this heat from the board i wouldn't agree to a trade from anyone here for a while. for fear they might stuff me with a box of crap sticks to which i'd be none the wiser.

and i followed your advice to the letter. i filled out my profile, posted an introduction, and stated my intention of sticking around. not sure how much more closely i could follow your suggestions.

now lets let this thread get buried never to be spoken of again...
