With Newfie not far (and some of the guys in Buffalo being close) this kind of thing makes me think we should try to arrange a Canadian HERF in Toronto.

Welcome from DC. What do you do in the Canadian Army?
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown

He mentions in his profile he is SigOps (Signal Operator). Basically he's the one that radios in that you guys are hitting our guys with Friendly Fire

Sometimes it's hard to tell between a Canadian and a Nazi through a pariscope.

Like others have said and it says in my profile, I'm a Signal Operator. Basically, I run the radios in combat arms units (Infantry, Artillery, Armored, Combat Engineers) or in a garrison situation I run the computer networks and radio signals (things like transmissions to ALERT close to the north pole).

Right now I'm in CFB Borden building a personnel tracking system and pulling cable when the line crew runs short of able bodies.
Just a stay at home dad (retired until I choose otherwise, thanks Canadian Army medical pension) hanging out and enjoying the good life.

a herf is when you get together with friends and smoke it up

just a social time you can spend with a few cigar buddies, or more than a few, it doesn't matter

As boomshay says. Usually you bring a stack of some sticks for people to take a few that they like and you take a few that you like from other people's stacks they have brought along. You smoke like crazy (I smoked 5 my first Herf with Bluesman and BigPoppaPuff and some others. Combined with the copious amounts of Rye and cokes I was DONE at the end of the night ), shoot the shit, drink, usually eat something and all round enjoy all that is good with life.
