We're supposed to be a community of friends here but it taints that when you can't be sure who exactly you are talking to. It would be nice for the members here to know exactly what is going on o they can gain a level of that trust back. Yes, I disagree completely and I don't see how it is "lying." I also fail to see where any "trust period" is violated. Are you saying that just because sid and others who have no idea what they're talking about are taking pot shots in the dark that you don't "trust" anyone here anymore? Okay, let's take me for example, I told you I created "the ox hole" as a "duplicate account" before there was any such policy against it. Does this mean you don't "trust" me anymore Nate? Does this mean you won't participate in a trade or a pass with me?

There's another board I'm active on where there's a guy who has two accounts and everyone who has been around that board for a while knows darn well what the guy is doing and we all think it's funny as hell. For those who don't know, I don't see how they are harmed in anyway whatsoever.

What cracks me up is the guy (sid) who started all the rumors here about "duplicate" accounts engages in the same exact thing over at Herfer's Paradise where he is bigpoppapuff and blkfrankwhite. sid also has FOUR accounts over at larrynj's place. I'd like to know from the shit stirrers here (like shelby) why they are whining at the top of their lungs here about this perceived problem (which none of them have any actual proof of... ) yet see nothing wrong with sid doing the same exact thing?

I'm not "calling (sid) out" I'm just stating facts. It is interesting and hypocritical that his fan club finds nothing wrong when sid does it but whine on endlessly when someone else may be doing it. THAT is the issue mauied.

The reason the trust is broken is because nobody but the person using duplicate accounts knows who they are or the reasons they are doing it. This has nothing to do with Sid starting rumors, Hex was the one who brought all of this to light by saying that there were a few people with duplicate accounts. Hex then stated that there was someone who was still using duplicate accounts. The board has a right to know who this is. It is lying the same way that me giving you a call on the phone and pretending to be someone else would be lying.

If you are on this forum pretending to be someone you are not you are lying. If you lie you have then broken a trust. If every member knew that the duplicate account was had, like over at the other board you are active on, then that would be all well and good but that is not the case here. I'm fairly certain you are a member of the minority with your opinion on this one Bill, however you are entitled to your opinion, this is though supposed to be a member moderated board and the members seem to have spoken about wanting to know who has duplicate accounts and what those accounts are.

Here is what I know: I found several duplicate accounts with matching IP addresses. Some of them were obviously accidental signups, no extra posts, no problem. I found a couple of iffy duplicates, but after looking closer at them, they haven’t been used in a while.

I did find 2 senior members with what appears to be blatant duplicate account usage. IP’s match, posting habits’ continued until very recently, etc. I contacted one of those members and got an explanation, the other one I’m trying to catch in the act (not enough concrete evidence). The person I did contact offered an explanation which I considered plausible. If he wants to come out and say something, he can.

He has not come back to relay his findings on he APPEARS to have found so therefore the members here can only make assumptions. This is yet another reason why this now needs to be dealt with publicly.

Yes I do have a problem with it. Hex brought the issue to the public light he now needs to handle it in public.

Notice the "New" part in this statement. This rule has been in effect for awhile now and everyone with duplicate accounts has had ample time to resolve the situation, considering the lentgh of time that has passed since the implimentation of this rule I don't believe the pm is enough any longer.

Again that person is purposefully lying to the members of a board to purposefully lie to someone is a betrayal and while the betrayal may not cause direct harm it does make having a true friendship quite a bit harder. I thought the people on this board were people I could count as friends, if we were true friends we wouldn't need to hide behind mutiple accounts.
