Going by knocking on the door would be totally fine, if the guy was too much of a bum to post communication on the board even though he had plenty of activity, maybe he'd be more willing to fess up in person. The guy's reputation is shot though from here on out until some crazy explanation involving tornados and magical computer pixies using his cs account is given.
