Hello everyone, I got a call from Shelby today. He asked how I was doing, and I told him a few things that have been on my mind.

Back when I was last on vacation, I went back to the doctor after having a few tests. Bad news. She's been trying to get me to have surgery for a while now and I finally gave in. So she put me on a liquid diet right after Memorial day and it's making me sick as hell. I have to lose quite a bit of weight in about 90 days. Sour stomach all the time, and cigars just made it worse. And the surgery has been on my mind big time so that's about all I've been thinking about.

I have e-mailed JFellows to let him have my apologies and told him I will get his sticks out asap. Might as well have someone smoke them for me. About once a week I try to smoke one and end up getting sick as hell.

I doubt you will see much of me in the near future. This is weighing heavily on my mind, and this liquid diet is making me so sick I don't even want to think about cigars.

i don't want anyone to feel sorry for me. I'm pretty sure I'll be OK but I've never had surgery before, but I've seen family members go through several serious surgeries, and watched my dad spend a week in ICU, so I'm pretty terrified.

So I hope all is well with everybody. God willing I will come out of this OK this fall and be back to my cigar smoking ways. I don't really want to share any more details, but my health is at risk and I don't want to chicken out so I'm really struggling.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

As I said in the email, PLEASE ensure that your health is your priority. The cigars are a non-issue when there are serious matters at hand. Good luck and prayers will be with you.

Hang in their brother. Feel better and know that we're thinking of you.

    Thumbs up New Info

Just wanted to pass on some news I just got from CNB.....

The surgery was last Wednesday and went so well that he was released and home on Thursday evening. Unfortunately Ike was coming to town as we all know, which left Chris without power from Saturday to Monday evening. Not an easy thing when you're recovering from surgery, but, all went well and power was restored late Monday night.

CNB is looking forward to returning to cigar smoking and being active on the board when his DR. releases him to normal activity......might be 4-6 weeks yet, but he's getting there. He was concerned that he left something incomplete here.......even with all that is happening in his life, it was on his mind.......I told him that everything was taken care of and just to get his ass back in good health, start scratching, smoking, and destroying safiness like we all have come to expect.

We'll think about you each and every day. I recently had major abdominal surgery. Screwed around with an ulcerated appendix and whammo in a few days I had developed peritonitis. I was lucky to come out of that one alive. You need to follow through. The surgery wasn't really all too bad. Just an inconvenience. Keep us informed.
