Default Heads Up: Cigar Sale Coming

A few months back I started to take up drumming at least semi-seriously. And I thought guitars were expensive- sheesh. I have been upgrading my set and hardware, but there are still a couple-three items I am looking to buy/replace to compliment this new hobby. Keep your eyes out within the next week or so. I will be offering up some cigars for sell (low to high end).

    Peace!

    I feel your pain.

    Here's my set....

I use to play a lot bigger set when I played metal, but now I like to keep it simple. It's a Pacific (DW). Cymbals are what will get ya. My crash ride was $250. Sticks aren't cheap either. I play really hard and break sticks constantly. At $9 a pair that adds up quick.

Let me know if you need any odd and end stuff, I might have it. I've been going through gear for 11 years.

    Sweet 4 pc. Chris!!!!!!! Dayum.

Yep, this year I have dumped 3 times as much on replacements and other pieces than I spent on the original kit.

The kit is a basic PDP 5 pc. Not even 1/10th as beautiful as yours. I replaced the stock heads out with Remo Pinstripes and Powerstrokes for the kick which made a huge improvement in sound. However, now I have my eyes on the Gretcsh Catalina in pearl white as a replacement for all of the shells. Maybe next year.

Cymbals- Zildjian ZBTs (hats, crash and ride) a huge step up from what I had, but seem a bit stiff and too bright sounding. Would love to get my hands on some of those Zildjian A's. I also picked up a little Sabian B8 splash cymbal. This is an awesome little guy for the money and adds a nice litte punch accent to the prebeat on punk and funk tracks (think like Minutemen). Picked up an LP mountable tamborine which I lalso ove to hit on for different styles of music.

Replaced the stock pedal with a Tama Iron Cobra. It was between that and the DW 9000 series, but I felt the Tama was very comparible for $100 less. I love this thing!

For father's day, I got a really nice Tama fat saddle style throne and some other little goodies.

I hear ya on the sticks. They go fast and are not cheap. If you run into any good bulk deals, let me know. I prefer wood tipped- 5A. My favorite sticks so far (and most durable) are the Vator Chad Smith Funk Blasters.

Damn, I get all worked up and could go on and on. I will try to catch you in IM some time.

These are the items I am still looking to buy in the next couple months-

-Tama Iron Cobra HH905 Hat Stand (or DW 9000- doubt that will happen)
    -Pearl Chad Smith Signature Snare
-Tascam digital 8 track recorder (for messing around with my son)
-2-3 decent dynamic mics -or- a condenser/dynamic mic bundle.

Oh yeah, it's expensive. I have always used the Aquarian Heads, ecspecially for my kick drum. I use the Aquarin Performance II drumheads and you simply cannot beat the Aquarian Super Kick head. Also, I have found the Aquarian sticks are very durable. I'm using them in both those pictures.

I need to get a new stool bad. Last show we played (first picture) I kept wondering why my stool was leaning forward. After the song I looked down and saw that all 3 of my legs had bunched up. So I was pretty much sitting on a padded pole. I need to just man up and get a saddle seat.

I use the DW 5000 Double Kick. Although now that I'm not playing metal I went back to using the single kick, but that doesn't mean I can't hit triples with one foot.
