I think these are a quick way for them to make a few more bucks. Just slap a different wrapper a a smoke thats good. I thought the VR was nasty. I like the Brazila and I love the regular Black but the VR is a no go. I don;t think they will be around long. Your the first person I know other than me to try it.

I've smoked a couple of these in the "Cathedral" vitola (torpedo); I found the first one to be unremarkable (must have needed to rest a bit); the second one was quite tasty, but not worth the hype. And not worth the MSRP, IMO.

"The cigar is very dark and shiny, but looking at it I get the distinct impression that the wrapper is dyed. The color of the wrapper is not consistent, and the top half of the cigar has almost a barber pole appearance. The wrapper itself is rather veiny, but the shine makes it look almost smooth."

I have noticed this on several other cigars as well. I am almost certain that on certain cigars I have noticed a kind of sheen that looked painted on to make them appear oily. Apparently they rush the job and don't get consistant coverage.

Hmmm interesting, thanks for the review. I think I'll put this one at the bottom of my list.
