Quite right, Corvin. I didn't know that a few years ago when I visited Europe. Picked up a small cuban cigar in Saltzburg and smoked it in the town square of Florence, with a big smile on my face. Thought I was legal!

Just to clear a couple of things up, first as an American it is illegal for you to purchase and Cuban products anywhere in the world due to the embargo your country has placed on them. Secondly I wouldn't worry about the "Cuban cigar" that was rolled in front of your hotel in Mexico, most of the places that roll cigars in front of you are not using Cuban tobacco and that goes for the ones in Cuba as well (unless you're in a government shop or an actual factory there).
