Newbie with questions

Hey I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of cigars or just general suggetions for me. I am 20 and have been smoking since I was 18 about once every two weeks. I like maduro cigars for the most part with one of my favoties being a CAO gold. My girlfriend just bought me two cuban Cohibas and I was hoping that someone could tell me something about them.

Welcome to the forums from central Oregon. I have been smoking cigars much longer than you have. In my short experience, it's all about YOUR personal taste. There are some cigars I enjoy that I know others don't like, and I am sure that it goes the other way, as well. You never know until you try it. I've learned to smoke every cigar with some kind of food in your stomach. Aside from that, it's the experience, enjoying the moment, and trying new cigars.

Since I began smoking around Thanksgiving, there are probably only 4 or 5 cigars I like enough to buy a box.

I think you will find that your own taste will allow you to find what inspires you and so far you are partial to maduros which to me says you like a medium to full flavored cigar. As such, you should really enjoy the Cuban Cohiba. Don't be afraid to experiment with a full range of flavors and cigars and since you say you like the CAO Gold you should maybe try the CAO Black. Hey thanks guys for what you have told me so far. Sorry if I ask questions that have already been answered. I don't want to come off as a mooch or a bad member. I am just eager to learn from those who have come before me. Let me know if you want more of an intro or anything else.

cigimpy's reply is misleading, as there are maduros that are not full-flavored and there are lighter colored wrappers on some very full-flavored cigars, and then there are rosados, oscuros, etc.

Also, I notice that you reside in Ohio, a state in the US, where anything from the country of Cuba is illegal for you to own, and/or consume.

From the good recommendations you received, I'd like to add:

READ: About cigar History, Producer Regions, Cigar Production, Vitolas, Brands, Cigar Storing. Cigar Aging, ...

WRITE: A comment of your feelings in a personal notebook each time you smoke a cigar. Compare your comments with other's reviews.

ENJOY: As much as you can.
