Anything in the DeNobili or Parodi line (including the Avanti, which I enjoy on occasion) are 100% fire cured tobacco from Tennessee and Kentucky (i.e. no sheet wrapper or homogenized binder). They are machine made and rather strong of flavor. The Avanti line is anise flavored and actually quite tasty. I've not tried the other brands, but they are common enough in drugstores. They are definitely of the European dry-cured variety so don't bite on the tip while you smoke it or it may break.
I wouldn't say these are the best of the worst. It's more about catering to a different taste.
