Cigars, lighters and Airlines... Oh My!

The past few times that I've flown, I've brought my cigar caddy and my xikar cutter as carry on. Didn't bother to bring my torch lighter..........just a regular bic light. However, you can bring a torch lighter as long as it's empty of fluid and in an FAA approved travel case. Here is an example of one.

Torch Lighters - Torch lighters create a thin, needle-like flame that is hotter (reaching 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit) and more intense than those from common lighters. Torch lighters are often used for pipes and cigars, and maintain a consistent stream of air-propelled fire regardless of the angle at which it is held. Torch lighters continue to be banned.

I'd leave it at home.

I honestly had no idea. I've always kept my torch in the box it came in, and threw it in my checked bag. I've recently gone to Mexico, Minnesota, and DC. Interesting.
