I am flying out to Vegas next weekend and I need to know how I can get my cigars and equipment (lighter, cutter, etc..) out there with me. Anyone flown recently? I have a 5 cigar otterbox which I plan on bringing.
Thanks!

Cigars you can put in your carry on. Cutters and lighter, if they are nice ones, I would suggest packing them in your checked bag if you have one. If no bag is being checked, bring cheap ones(that you won't mind loosing if they are found), or just buy cheap ones in Vegas.
There's a Davidoff shop in The Venetian if you didn't know already. Over priced; but, hey, it's Vegas.
Enjoy your trip. I love Vegas!
Will I have any problems with my Xikar torch lighter in my packed luggage? I would certainly prefer to not have it confiscated by TSA. I was under the impression that roch lighters were not allowed. I will put everything into the Otterbox to keep things safe.

I just flew to/from Mexico the beginning of June. The rules then were:
tobacco - good
cutter - check it
torch lighter - no go.
The TSA does not allow any torch lighters, fueled or not, on the plane. not in your carry on, not in your checked bag, nowhere. You could probably sneak it past them, but I would not recommend trying if you value your lighter at all.
The past few times that I've flown, I've brought my cigar caddy and my xikar cutter as carry on. Didn't bother to bring my torch lighter..........just a regular bic light. However, you can bring a torch lighter as long as it's empty of fluid and in an FAA approved travel case. Here is an example of one.

Have fun in Vegas and be sure to check out Casa Fuente.

Thanks everyone. I would prefer to bring it, with me, but I would prefer it more if I did not have to buy another lighter because a TSA agent took it out of my checked bag. I will stick with the bic I think. Would you recommend bringing the smokes on the plane with me? Do you ever get a hassle with smokes with you? I will only be bringing 5 or so in a small cigar caddy.

Bring your bic, and for the cutter, just to be prepared, print a copy of the TSA list linked to above, fold it up nice, and put it with your cutter in a quart size ziploc bag in your carry-on, I would even highlight the items questioned. If they give you any shit, you will be prepared

Is it ok for me to smoke my cigars in the casinos or is it one of those things that is allowed but not really done? I really don't want to piss anyone off, but I can't think of anything better than drinking, smoking my cigars, and gambling. (BTW, I play mostly machines).

Oh wow theres an awesome cigar bar at the forum shops Caesars Palace
I travel quite a bit and observe what is said here. TSA usually never bothers with bic lighters and cutters as a rule and I have usually put in the printed do's and don't of accepted materials in with my travel humidor. Even if you check your bag and try to hide that nice butane lighter they usually will find it as I have lost plenty of lighters to the TSA and now just leave them at home.
