Thread: Graycliff 1666

    Default Graycliff 1666

I had one of these bad boys last week.

    The wrapper held nicely.
The flavor was nice and smooth
The draw and burn were both consistent and I didn't want to put it down.
It was way too strong for me. I enjoyed the cigar a lot but two hours later I was throwing up. I swear that cigar got me high.

Anyone have experience with the 1666 by Graycliff?
Aside from the shock to my system, I enjoyed the cigar very much. Maybe too much?

    Doesn't sound very enjoyable.

Make sure there is food in your stomach before you smoke a cigar. The high you felt was from the nicotine. Did you inhale the smoke? That will make you puke and feel high.

I've never had a Graycliff 1666, I do believe it's a full bodied or med-full cigar. Maybe you should look for something more mild?

I think I'll have one of these for a breakfast smoke today.....yummy. I think I'll leave out the puking part.

I LOVE these, but as with most Graycliff cigars, they are on the upper end of the scale on strength.

Fortunately, they're on a reasonable price point for Graycliff

I'm pretty sure I didn't inhale but it's possible I sucked a few down. I am not a frequent smoker, and I've never smoked cigs, so when I inhale I usually cough it up pretty quicky. I did enjoy the buzz.... I enjoyed it a lot. Too bad it reminded me of the first (and last) time I smoked the wacky tobacky while drunk.

I have five more of them in my humidor. I guess I better work up to them.

    Thanks for the advice

some mild - medium cigars that I've enjoyed:
Ashton classic, cabinet, aged maduro and VSG
Montecristo classic, Media Noce and Afrique (the white label was too mild for me but you may like it)
    Playboy By Don Diego
    Gran Habano #1 Connecticut
    most Arturo Fuente
    Gurkha ancient warrior
    Perdomo Lot 23
    Padilla serie '68
I also hear that Graycliff Emerald are pretty mild(haven't had this one)

I'm not the biggest fan mild cigars but I've found that all these are nice smooth smokes and are not harsh at all and still pack a ton of flavor. There are tons more which you can research on any cigar shop online. Hope this helps.

Ooooh, a good throw-up cigar. I will have to remember that. The strongest cigar I've ever smoked was a Perdomo Habano something or other. Wow. Really strong stuff, but I loved it. I am a pretty novice cigar smoker myself, and have made it a habit to always eat something that will stick to me beforehand. I've definitely felt woozy after a few cigars, but never hugged the porcelain god.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the advice. I've had a cigar from Padilla before and enjoyed it. Not sure if it was a mild or not but I think I'll give the '68 a try. I've been smoking cigs lightly for a year now but never took them seriously, or paid attention to what I was smoking, so I am basically starting over from the basics.

Meow listen here PackinHeat, if you want a good mild cigar you should see if you can get your paws on some Devil's Weed - the company specifically designed the cigar for new people getting into the hobby that wanted a mild cigar that still had some nice flavors to it. I read a review that said that they would get better with age, but when I smoked one I thought it was fantastic(The owner wanted the release to coincide with Columbus's 515th landing in the America's)

I thought about becoming a cop just so I could write a ticket after popping some Viagra. Turns out... I'm too lazy. Think I'll just go smoke a cigar now and think about how fun it would have been. I would watch Super Troopers for the 117th time but my wife loaned it to her sister and I haven't got it back yet. One more week and that's grounds for divorce.

Do you know who sells them online? I looked at their site (http://molinacigar.com/) but they didn't actually list any online retailers.

Honestly... I don't know if you can even get them online yet. The brand is REALLY new. The only complaint I've heard of the cigar is that they weren't aged long enough before they were released... I'm looking at buying a box for this very reason, so that I can let them age and enjoy some (hopefully) real quality mild cigars. I'll PM you with some details/ideas

    Update on getting Devil's Weed:

Sitting with the owner chatting at my local B&M and he pointed out a couple sites that you can get devil's weed from:

    www.vcigar.com
    http://www.vcigar.com/cigars-by-bran...173_3_225.html

    www.silocigar.com
    http://www.silocigars.com/advanced_s...s+weed&x=0&y=0

Smoked another devil's weed today and I enjoyed it a lot more than the first one. I think I smoked the first one too early in my smoking experience and there was too many flavors in it and it overwhelmed me a little bit. I'll post a full review when I can sit down and really pay attention to the whole cigar.
