Very cool...for those interested in Beastie's instrumental stuff, similar to the material on Ill Communication, check out their album "The Mix Up". Threw it back on this morning and had a smile on my face, which is hard to do during my commute.![]()

Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime and Devo "Total Devo"
Two albums from my childhood because even I gotta take a from In Slaughter Native, Lustmord, and Mz. 412.
Can't get enough of this lately:
Now you talking, Bill Withers, Bobby Blue Band, and Al Green all day. Now a days male R&B is sung exclusively in the nasal cavity in that alto almost soprano style but back then it was sung from the gut. Real gritty. Wish that would come back a bit.
I'm waiting on my copy in the mail, but I can't stop listening to the new Booker T. Jones album...
He brought in Sharon Jones to help sing, Lou Reed, engineering genius Gabe Roth of Daptone Records to man the control room and none other than the Roots crew to be his backing band, including Hub on the bass. Good lawd!![]()

Uncle Tupelo
I'm just curious but do you fellas just sit and listen to the music or do you do something else while listening?
Doc.
Do draft dodgers have reunions? And if so what do they talk about?

Their new CD and it's a GREAT ONE!![]()
TBSCigars - "On Holiday"

I listen to my music in the car Doc. I have a new Pioneer Stereo/CD player that has a plug for a flash drive. I put all my music (over 2000 songs) on a 32 gig flash drive and I don't even think it's 20% full.Room for lots more.
There are 256 gig flash drives out there that can be found on eBay for about $50.00 which are two and a half times the size of the hard drive I have in my computer.![]()

This is definitely the way to go! I used to carry around a damn shoe box FULL of cd's...not very convenient. My only gripe with my pioneer head unit is that regardless of how large the flash drive is, it will only read/play 99 folders. Granted, that's a lot of tunes to choose from...but wasted space IMO.
Just to stay on topic, I've been listening to Gil Scott-Heron since he passed...shame he had to go...only 62.
Yeah...that one is definitely newer than mine. My wife got is for my birthday a few years ago...maybe three years back? Even with the design flaw in mine, I still love it though.![]()
Dinosaur Jr. - Where You Been
There's an obsessive-compulsive reaction I have with music in that it always needs to be on in the background. I listen to music all day at work. I listen to it when I eat lunch, dinner, working in the garage or the yard. When I was younger, I'd listen to it when I went to sleep. Doesn't make much difference what the music is, just that it's on, and it's not Neil Young.
