Oh yeah, the Tossers say the Pogues are one of their influences. The Killigans are almost in the same genre as well. I actually got to see the Pogues live in Boston in '08. Shane wasn't the sloppy drunk he can be so it was pretty good!

One time when I saw the Tossers back in 2007, the lead singer did "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" as a solo, no instruments at all, and it was incredible. Thanks for the Pogues version!

I haven't listened to a lot of the Tossers, but what I have, I liked. I'm definitely going to have to check into the Killigans more deeply.

yes the 70's was a good era for music!

Ain't that the truth! One of my favorite channels on satellite radio is the 70's channel. Reminds me of my misspent youth.........LOL

I've never been a fan of Axel Rose so I've never quite enjoyed that song as much as I did this version. I went and looked for it after you mentioned it and found it on YouTube.
