  1. Default a real newbie question :) first time user

    Hello everyone,

My name is Oran, and I need your help :)

first i must say English is not my native language and my english is abit broken :)

I want to start smoking cigars, and i need a little guide, i dont smoke cigarrets, nor anything else at the moment or past.

i tryd a cheap "romeo and juliet" cigar but it tasted like crap (sorry for the language).

i have been told that cigars are much more then a big cigarette, and if you smoke the right one, you dont get the "shity" taste, but a sweet and "tasty" taste.

    is that true?

i have read alot about cigars, and i would really like to try.

i`v been recommended to use two "beginners" cigars -

1 Cuban cig - HOYO DE MONTEREY - Eficor 2

and a non cuban one - DAVIDOFF Spechial R

will those answer my needs (wants?), or am i way off ? any other recommendations will be great :)

thank you very much, hope you understood everything :)

Those are both great choices however I think the davidoff is very much overpriced. If you have access to cuban cigars regularly, I would suggest h upmann, diplomatico, and montecristo in addition to the hoyo de monterrey. They are very easy to enjoy and perfect for a real beginner.

Welcome, you may want to try Indios Puros or Punch, or La Gloria Cubanas.

    Hey guys,

quick question, i ended up getting a COHIBA Siglo 1

it was really nice to smoke and all,

    but.

10 minutes after i was done with, i started feeling REALLY REALLY bad, i had cold swet, and was really about to puke.

a real big dizzyness and somach acke.

i must say it only started 10 minutes after i was done with the cigar, and i DID eat a good meal about 20 min before i started smoking the cigar.

ofcourse i didnt inhale the smoke.

my question is - is this because this cigar is too strong ? or is it just me who cant handle a cigar?

if its becuz the cigar, will a Davidof Spciahl R will be ok ? (i`v bought it allready, just want to know if i should smoke it or not, considering what went down with the COHIBA)

thanks a lot in advance :)

If you swet, puke, and acke after a cigar maybe you should not smoke at all.

    Who let this guy in?

What do you think that maybe the possibility of you smoking cigars is remote at best? Unless you were smoking a super heavy duty maduro and inhaling, maybe your just not cut out for this lifestyle.

My advice to you is to try, try again.
When I first started smoking cigars, I would get dizzy and lightheaded (and occasionally nauseaus) almost without fail. Didn't matter if I was inside, outside, drinking alcohol, full or empty stomach, maduro or natural...whatever. If you have a roll of burning leaves in your mouth, it is almost inevitable that you are going to inhale some smoke, even if you're not specifically INHALING the smoke.
If you enjoy smoking cigars (but not the afteraffects) try it a few more times and see if it continues to kick your ass. Your body should adjust to the small amounts of nicotine you are inadvertantly taking in and it should become less of a problem for you. If it continues to make you sick, look into a new hobby (and send me your leftover sticks!)

Who the fuck are you to suggest he's not cut out for this lifestyle.......I suggest to you that you're not cut-out for this community.
