cheapie double-guillotine cutter question

So, my wife is cute.

She gets me this little cigar travel leather case, for short weekend trips or what-not. It comes with a double-guillotine cheapie cutter. She knows I gave my last cheapie-cutter away. I have been using a knife, and in some cases, it's necessary.

But it seems like one of the blades on the cutter isn't very even, and could potentially damage the cap. My question is, how do you go about sharpening these? The cutter is solid metal, whatever kind of metal it is, and it's not immediately clear to me as to how I could take this apart. I would be willing to post photos if anyone is really interested, I just didn't know if there was a quick and dirty solution.

Sorry, can't help with the sharpening.....but I do use cheap double guillotine cutters, I just throw them away and get another when I start having problems. Really though, I think I've only trashed 1 because it became unusable....I've lost more than that.

If you have a small sharpening rod that could fit inside, that might work. Though it would be a right pain in the ass to get the angle right and to keep the blade from moving. If you don't have one of those, you'd spend more getting one than just replacing the cutter.

Really though, I think I've only trashed 1 because it became unusable....I've lost more than that.

That's my usual MO. Though with me the best way to find a lost cutter is to buy a replacement...
