Family, Friends and a good cigar. Oh and some fishing too!
Was curious if any of you guys tried the cigars yet.
What do you think and is it what others have suggested?
Smoked one a couple of weekends ago. Honestly, I found very little resemblence to the 1964 torpedo- construction, appearance and especially taste. It was not a bad smoke, but not in the same league as the Padron. The one I had was also somewhat plugged and I had to work very hard to get any volume in smoke. I will try another in a few months to see if my opinion changes because after all, it is not good to judge most cigars based on just a single experience.
Mama said a lot of things and be thankful was the one she never minded saying twice

I finally got around to smoking one last night and was impressed with the construction of this cigar. It had a nice draw, burned well and had a nice ash (no tightness/plug issues as slc mentioned).
However, as far as flavor/complexity, there was really no comparison for me to the 64.
Overall a nice smoke, just nothing I'd really go out of the way for.
I sent a few out to some other members who I trust to review these; hopefully they can give us some reviews a little more in-depth and inclusive than mine.

Hefty dropped one of these in my lap to try, thanks again brother!![]()
The smoke overall was not that bad, but I had one hell of a time keeping this thing burning, well, at least the wrapper. It tunneled pretty severely and had to be corrected several times. The smoke didn't feel over humidified or soft at all.....especially since I dry boxed it since it arrived.
The flavor is not comparable to the Padron, though I guess it may "remind" some of a Padron . There is little depth or complexity to the flavor....pretty straight up and singular throughout the smoke, imho.
I dunno, I don't think I would pay the asking price for these, they are too expensive for a daily rotation smoke for me, and not complex or interesting enough to be anything else.
Interesting. Seems like everyone had a different experience with this cigar. I may have to smoke a couple more and see if I had the same experience as I had before.
Thanks for the opinions guys!
Sorry it has not come up to all the hype I gave it.
