Maduros are my favorite also, but you will soon have many favorites after you take a spell and learn from the peeps in here.

Welcome from northwest Louisiana. I have a good friend that operates a coffee shop on the 299 heading towards the coast. Just past Weaverville - Straw House Coffee. Ever been there? Pretty country. Would love to retire there one day, fishing in the Trinity River.

    Welcome to the board!

Whoops. Sorry. Allow me to clarify.

First of all, there isn't a job that pays enough money for me to live where you do. I don't mean that as a slam, but Redding, CA is not my idea of paradise. If, however, you get on state HW 299, and head out towards Weaverville, CA, kind of around Big Flat, you will come across a little coffeeshop called Straw House Coffee. It's about halfway between Redding and, like, Arcada or whatever on the coast. Great food, great coffee, great ambiance. I actually had an offer to work there and help the guy run the place, but never took him up on it, as I needed to make some money. But I can envision retiring there, and fishing on the Trinity river. My wife is from CA, I still listen to southern CA talk radio, so I'm still updated on what's going on there. It's kind of a mess. But it's SO pretty there. Likewise, however, I lived in the midwest for 5 years, and really couldn't wait to get out. Different strokes, different folks........

LOL Yeah I guess you said it right. Just keep an a close eye on your humi if and when you move out here. My son is a fire fighter with the U.S. Forest service and last year when they had all the fires out there the people were more worried about the pot crops than there house. So if you see some people walking around with cigars that smells funny don't smoke it they are going to be blunts. LOL
