Thread: Cigar cases

  1. Default Cigar cases

Which is better a leather case or stainless steal? Or it doesn't matter?

I guess it would depend on what the case is for? Something to carry a few smokes for a weekend? Longer? A single cigar? What do you mean?

For extended weekend trips, I just use a little faux-leather 3-cigar case my wife got me for my half birthday in Feb. Works great, but I don't need it to do much more.

Don't know specifically, but make sure it's cedar lined. Also, many leather lined cases have a steel interior, so you'd be getting both. The steel might reflect more heat, which could be good, but again I don't really know...

Welcome to the board, have you made an introduction thread? Always a good idea...

I just would like a case for when I go out for the night so my cigars are protected. I was just not sure if leather and stainless steal had any negative effects on the cigars or if one was better then the other.

    I love my Diamond Crown.

Leather outside, cedar lined... and it looks sexy.

    It looks like this one.

(That's not me advertising a sale by the way, just the first image that google brought up that matched lol)
America is all about tolerance. We love tolerance, we love the melting pot, and we hate intolerance...

Unless its directed towards a freakin' smoker.

I have an otterbox that I use to hold my sticks in if I'm going on a vacation. OtterBox sold the rights to Cigar Caddy, and they appear to be exactly the same right down to the sponge. I have the 5-stick box (5 thin sticks, length is never an issue, but with larger ring gauges you'll get four sticks, sometimes three), which works great for me. A few summers back, just before my wedding, my best man and a few friends thought it'd be a good time to float down the Gallatin River outside of Bozeman, MT in some tubes. On the way I found myself a bit of rope and tied my otterbox to my tube. I had three sticks, a lighter, and a cutter in there. The otterbox floats without a problem and it's water tight. We put in above some small rapids, rode down those and got onto some flat water where we opened up the otterbox and enjoyed some cigars while floating in an innertube. If the otterbox ever fails (I think it has a lifetime warranty) I'll be buying a cigar caddy. I might go to the 10 stick box though and possibly put in some RH beads to replace the sponge. I also have a case for my iPod from OtterBox. I love their products and their people are great to work with.
Now if I'm just going to a bbq or something and want a cigar with me, maybe one for a buddy as well, I use a 2 finger leather cigar case that came with a box purchase I made awhile ago. That works well, looks classy and it offers adequate protection for my sticks.

Welcome to the board ziggyzag. You've asked us three questions, and gotten some good responses. Looks as if you were asked for a little introduction, and we've gotten nothing. Doesn't have to be your life story.

Would you introduce yourself if you were asking these questions to a group of guys smoking at your b/m? Or just barge in? That's kinda what we are here. A group of friends sitting around smoking and shooting the shit.
