I have been looking at buying a pistol for home defense/EDC recommendations?

XD-9 Sub compact with laser/strobe attachment (my bedside gun...it goes back in the gun safe anytime else)
FNH SLP semi-auto shotgun (in my gun safe)...or just plain old trusty Winchester 870 pump action...
