    Default La Aurora 1903 ~ Red #2

    Review Link[/URL]

    Smoke: La Aurora 1903 ~ Red #2
    Drink(s): Yuengling Porter
Tunes: The Killers ~ Day and Age

Disclaimer: This was bought by accident with a beetle burrow in it. Plus, I've never had one of these before, but Wifey like them a lot...

    Wrapper: Maduro
    Binder: Dominican Rep.
    Filler: Dominican Rep.
    Draw: Medium to tight
Burn: I had to work it a bit
Misc: 90+ minutes Nose exhale exhibits no burn.

Pre-light: Some sort of beetle hole in here (see pictures). Dark Maduro wrapper. Plain smell & pre-light taste.

Light: I have to put a finger over this hole... Lights easy. Medium draw.

1st 3rd: Leathery. A bit bitter. Woodsy. Mellow. No spices detected. Cedar taste too. Holding my finger over this hole for draws is a little distracting, but doesn’t detract from the taste.

Ash: Layered, mottled white & gray. Seems stable, and holds on for about 1"

2nd 3rd: Zero nose exhale burn. Full flavor, with medium to light body, but extremely mellow. Leather, oil, cedar. Very nice.

3rd 3rd: Mostly same flavor profile. Pretty nice... actually, I'm thinking about more (sans beetle holes)

Overall impression: Very good. A little pricey for me. Unofficial Score (due to beetle hole): Solid 90

I really like those. It's one of only a small handful of perfectos I've smoked. I am really impressed by the La Aurora line.

    Smartass

I titled this thing wrong, which may screw up a search on it. I guess these are Preferidos.

I really liked the pic review on this cigar. That is a great idea! First one I have ever seen like that. Awesome!

With that beetle roasting in there you should have been getting some Bar-B-Que flavors too.
