    Question Identify these.

So I took a buddy with me to the B&M today, turns out that they have a deal on where if you buy any 5 Perdomo cigars you get a free one.

Well, I picked up a 5er of Perdomo Fresco's and got the free cigar, it's supposedly a Perdomo, but I can't find any info about it online. It's got "seleccion privada" and is a nice dark maduro, either a torpedo or belicoso I'm guessing around the 6" mark and about a 50 ring gauge.

The other one is one my buddy's friend brought back from the DR, it claims to be a DR Cohiba, although I've never seen one quite like this. It's about 6" by a 50 ring gauge as well.

I'm no expert, and the pictures aren't the best, but I would say those bands look fake.

Yeah, as soon as I saw the "Cohiba's" I told him they were fake. I figured I'd get confirmation here though, the part that threw me was the "Republica Dominica" on the band instead of Cuba.

So that mystery is solved, any idea about the other one?

They used to sell these DR "Cohiba" cigars in bundles. I think this was one of the cigars that started the trademark infringement lawsuits between Habanos and NC manufacturers. They've since been taken off the market. I haven't seen them in a long time.

Two links on the other, Seleccion Privada cigars. Got confusing because apparently, Fuente and Partagas also make a cigar with the Seleccion Privada moniker. Neither review is flattering, however.

That's what I was looking for Mark, thanks a lot.

Now I have to smoke it and see if I need to seriously question the guy at my local B&M's taste.

You gotta take some comfort in the fact that "it might not make you vomit" -- that is truth advertising (I hope, for your skae).
