Welcome to the board.
I would second the suggestion for the Fuente Short Story. You may also wish to try the Oliva Serie G Special G.
I have made it a rule never to smoke more that one cigar at a time.

Welcome aboard from MD. I'm not quite sure what a "traditional" cigar is. Do you want to start to with a light to medium body cigar (highly recommended)? Or are you the daring type ready to leap into something that'll blow your socks off?![]()

Oh boy. What have I done here. I've enjoyed a few of the cigars from my Newbie Sampler. Really giving me a great idea as to what I am looking for. At the moment though, I have Humidor on the mind. I'm not asking for help because this is pretty straight-forward. I thought about a coolidor, but at the moment, I am no where near being able to fill one up. Nope, I am looking at a nice desktop/showpiece humidor. This one:
Humidor
Seems like an awesome deal. I don't know if I should trust the site reviews(bias), but the humidor looks good and I have heard some good things here about it. Probably will pull the trigger tonight. Something I am not sure about is the Humidor Solution. Is it needed or will pure distilled water do just as good? Anyways, another problem I have had is cutting my cigars, I don't have a proper cutter so I have had to use a razor. Decent, but next week, I am going to pick up a Palio cutter hopefully. I'm using a Ronson JetLite Lighter, no problems.
After all of that is set, I will begin to sample more and guide myself to full box purchases and what not. Thanks again everyone.![]()
Cuban Crafters are great humidors and Palio are great cutters. Ronsons are my everyday lighter.
The older I get ,the better I was

Just another day at the office!
First, nice humidor you are getting. And by the way, I am a noob too. I just set up my coolidor today, have it seasoning now and calibrating my hydrometer. All I have is a humi bag with maybe 5 sticks in it. In my short time on the boards here I have noticed one thing, the cigars are always moving with box splits, contests, samplers and so on. I decided, even having very few sticks to start, that when I start collecting them, I was going to run out of room really fast. I was looking at getting a 100 stick humi. But then I thought that I can get a better price buying more sticks. Samplers, bundles, whatever. And after thinking about that I knew that it was not going to take very long to get it filled up. The other thing is that, the money that you put into for a good sized humi pales in comparison to price to room ratio on a coolidor set up. Welcome again and I hope you find as much enjoyment as i do with this board and with smoking cigars. Roger.![]()
