    Default Newbie Intro

Hello fellow smokers. This is my attempt of an introduction. I am new to this board, or any board as far as that is concerned.

I am 39 years old, married for 20 years and have a 19 year old daughter and live in Houston Texas. I am a person that likes variety in life with indulgences such as cigars, food, & drink. I am always looking to top the last taste. I am far from trying all I want and need a plan to conquer all. I need help from seasoned cigar connoisseurs, like in this community, to help my knowledge develop.

I usually smoke small or medium size cigars because it is too hot in Houston and I don’t smoke in the house, so it needs to be fairly quick. But there are times that I like the big cigars, like when I get in the pool with a Rum drink (or few) and chill at the waterfall. The cigar really tops it off.

I have recently tried and liked a COA sampler pack I got for Christmas. It is always hard for me to tell which I like the best when I enjoy them all and there are days between smoking them. I do enjoy the very good imports while I visit Jamaica. They are irie.

    Cheers to all.

Welcome from west Texas, where it's still hot as hell but not nearly so humid.

    Nice intro.

Welcome from northwest Louisiana, where it's hot as hell, and humid as hell. It's just pretty much absolutely fucking miserable here in the summertime.

You should check out the Newbie Sampler thread - it's in the exchange section of the forum.

"Certificate of Authenticity" sampler pack? (I think you meant CAO, BTW)

Newbie sampler pack is the way to go! Give that a shot for something different. You won't be disappointed.

Welcome from one NOOB to another NOOB. I have to say, all these guys have made a real difference for me in enjoying and seeking new cigars. You will find a great deal of info on the boards and the guys here are always good for info if you can't find it. I hope you enjoy the boards as much as I do. Welcome from John Day, OR. Where yes, it is hot as hell, most of the time and not so humid. Have a good one and welcome. Roger.

    Welcome from Northern VA.

Start with the newbie sampler, then get yourself a coolidor, after that just follow the rest of us lemmings right off the cliff and you'll be set.

What type of rum do you like? I'm a fan of Cruzan Diamond Estate for a solid rum that doesn't break the bank.

Welcome from Lancaster, PA. The newbie sampler is great. So great that I completed it twice.

I just got married in Jamaica in April, so I have fond memories of the place as well.

Enjoy your stay on the boards!

    Default Thanks to all

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.

To Denver24, I am enjoying CAO Italia cigars. I also really enjoyed the Sopranos cigar.

Thanks to ggiese for the correction.

To FactoredReality – my favorite rum right now is Ron Zacapa. Aged in bourbon casks for 23 years, it has an enticingly dark golden color and a soft, rounded caramel taste. The cheaper everyday stuff I drink is Captain Morgan Private Stock.
