    Default Gurkha Centurian ~ Perfecto

    Smoked!'s review

    Smoke: Gurkha Centurian ~ Perfecto
    Drink(s): Yuengling Porter
    Tunes: nothing

    Wrapper: Connecticut / DR
    Binder: Dominican
    Filler: Dominican
    Draw: Medium to tight
    Burn: problematic
    Misc: 90 minutes

Pre-light: Medium brown. What appears to be excellent construction. Feels pretty firm to touch. Musky tobacco scent, and no prelight flavor.

Light: Very tight draw, but loosens quickly as you burn into the tip a bit. Now a solid medium draw.

1st 3rd: Woodsy. A little pepper flavor. A little bitter on the aftertaste. Do I light these things wrong? This is maybe the 3rd Gurkha perfecto that the wrapper has unraveled on me. Big disappointment.

Ash: Crumbly looking, but holding on ok. Flakey with light gray and yellow twinge.

2nd 3rd: Sweet flavor now. Still peppery & woodsy. Trying to salvage this wrapper….might have a touch of leather now.

3rd 3rd: Mostly the same. Woodsy & leather (slight) and mild pepper. Light nose exhale burn. Another “dry” flavor profile.

Overall impression: The wrapper unravel is turning me off to Gurkha perfectos. Thank you to Smoked! for sharing with me the opportunity to try this one!

Appreciate the review Will. I almost pulled the trigger for some of these from CI. I've had the same issues with Gurkha wrappers on non perfectos.

    Nice Job!

The wrapper looks like it was put on backwards, starting at the head and wrapping to the foot. That leaves nothing to hold the wrapper in place.

    Gurkhas are notorious for that.
