I ordered one of each of the Maduro and Natural Stubbies from Famous Smokes.

Looking for a great little 'short smoke?' Say hello to our delicious Famous Stubbies. Handmade in the DR with a rich-tasting blend of Dominican Piloto Cubano, Criollo '98, and Nicaraguan longfillers, Olor binder, and a dark, savory Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, these petites are sure to please.

Strength: Medium
Size: 3 3/4 x 44

General: Both of the Stubbies had similar look, feel, and construction. They aren't the prettiest cigars but then again I didn't buy them to look at them. The burn was even on each one and the amount of smoke they put out was surprising. They both produced thick, white smoke. Their shape and size reminded me of Hemingway Short Stories.

Maduro: The Maduro Stubby started off really spicy. I never experienced this much spice in a cigar before. It was almost like smoking black pepper. The spice settled a little bit and some typical Maduro flavor started to come out. The cigar ended with some sweet chocolate like most Maduros do. The spice was throughout the entire cigar.

Natural: Once again it had a lot of spice. I also got an earthy taste bordering on almost moldy taste. The earthy taste was sporadic, though. Every once in a while I'd get a bitter taste as well. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the Maduro.

Overall: At $2.40 a cigar they aren't bad. $33 for a box of 25 would almost be worth it. I enjoyed the Maduro more than the Natural so I think i'll pick up a few more of those and see what a little age will do to them. I don't think I will be buying the Natural again, well, maybe 1 more just to verify the taste. If the Maduro stays consistent then I'll be happy with them for that price. I think it would make a nice, cheap, quick smoke.

Anyone else try these?

EDIT: I really need to get my camera back.
