But if you absolutely HAVE to come back to a cigar, before you set it down, blow hard through it for about 10 seconds, this will expel any smoke that would stale the cigar, and heat up the ember to help burn off any foul tar near the foot. Set it down and let it go out on it's own. It won't be the same cigar as it was when first lit, but I do this from time to time, and I can come back a few hours later to a somewhat smokeable cigar. Your mileage may vary!


P.S. I NEVER do this with a quality cigar, if I don't have time to enjoy it fully, I'll light something of the yard-gar variety.
