Thread: Contest: Win 3 Free Cigar Spikes

  1. Default Contest: Win 3 Free Cigar Spikes

I recently interview Bryan, who created the Cigar Spike. All you have to do is post a comment under the interview that says which cigar you'd most like to spike. We'll pick a winner and Bryan will mail you 3 free cigar spikes. I've used the spike on a few cigars and it is pretty decent--stays on your key chain so it's good for a carry-around tool.

Maybe I'm jaded, but I feel as if I wasted the last 2 minutes of my life clicking on the link and seeing that the prize retails for a whopping $0.99. In your defense, you are giving away 3 of them, but still...

No offense, but that thing is retarded. If I want to poke a hole in my cigar (?) with something hanging off my keychain, I'll use a key.

I think it's a good "in case of emergency" tool to keep on your keychain; I still think a regular poker is the best option for putting a hole in the cigar. Bryan is trying to create this idea from the ground up so a lot folks are trying to help him spread the word...

Wow, really? It's like losing the chance to be last in the gangbang line.

When is smoking a cigar an "emergency" I wonder? I could prolly manage with my teeth if I really really had to light up that Kuba Kuba.

Why do I get the feeling we're just being used to spread the word for sponsors of your blog/website?

Guys, seriously? It's nice to have on the keychain, what's the big deal. Bryan sent me 3 spikes, I interviewed him cause it's interesting to me to know where the idea came from, I've used the spike twice, Bryan is giving away 3...and that's it. I have no sponsors for the blog...why is everyone so against helping out someone trying to get an invention off the ground?

You're either here to join our community as a contributing member, or push your own agenda. Which one is it?

Do a search for a user named kaelaria - that will tell you where we're heading with this.

I bought three of the cigar spikes about a month ago just to check them out for myself. These things are worthless. I used one on a Monte white and it just F'ed it up so I got out my cigar cutter and it worked out. I would not recommend these to anyone. a $2 cutter is the way to go.
Smoke em' if you got em'

It worked on the first cigar I spiked and on the second I had to end up cutting the tip to get a decent draw. I think it would work better with a more refined tip on it or maybe even if it was metal instead of plastic

So you're giving away a product that you yourself find lacking? That really doesn't say much for the product or your character.

Says you. The less on a key chain I carry in my pocket, the better. Currently: two small rings connected with a small release, with one key on each.

Please don't attack my character. Why is everyone against receiving a free cigar tool that costs .99? If you don't like it move on. If you buy it and it doesn't work well, give it away or throw it away or use it as a toothpick. Lighten up...you take this forum too seriously.

    See, here's the problem:

You join the board. You post up reviews, make links to your website, and host a contest where in order to enter, we have to visit your website. It looks like you are just here to promote yourself, your website, and make yourself look better to vendors, who in turn, would supply you with more free cigars.

To many people here, it looks like you are just using this board as a vehicle to promote your own interests, instead of being an addition to what is going on here. It takes a while - read up, do searches, read past posts, and, above all else, POST SPARINGLY.

Did you check out all that went down with the kaelaria guy I mentioned in the above post?

I don't know how to put it much clearer than that - we're not picking on you, for crying out loud. We're being NICE.
