Forum introduction
Hello everyone,
My name is Craig and I'm from down here in Cigar city, Florida. I'm still pretty new to cigars, only 4-5 months or so, but its a very addicting hobby!(and I don't mean nicotine) I really don't smoke often, so far maybe 3-4 a year at most, but I find myself hunting around online and in the local shops for really great cigars (or at least cigars with a high rating or review) to add to my new humidor. (Which I found for 5 bucks on Craigslist! Well I was excited) Anyways I figure that's normal for a newbie but I didn't know where to start; It seemed like a good idea to learn what they are suppose to be like first so I know what to look for later as I buy more. Its like this slippery slope, I keep buying cigars even though I know it will take forever to actually get around to smoking them.
My first cigar I started mild. I read a review about the natural CAO gold and gave it a shot. To me it just tasted like smoke. Nothing exciting and actually was a disappointment from what I had been reading about all the flavors described in a good smoke. But then I tried a Padron 1964 Anniversary Imperial...
Wow! What a difference! It was just great, I immediately tasted what is so vividly described in good cigar reviews. That's what hooked me. A few months later I was recommended a Rocky Patel, The Edge. Man that thing was a monster, I actually had to share it with two friends, it was just too much for me alone. I actually had a “full” feeling. But it was also a great cigar! Very spicy compared to the Padron's smoother taste.
I've been reading online as much as I can about all the different aspects of cigars and cigar keeping and I'm really excited about joining this forum. Something I can't get over though are those weird twisted/braided cigars! Those have to be the weirdest thing I've discovered while searching.
It's nice to meet you all and I hope to stick around for awhile and make some friends.
