    Default For you Bacon lovers!

Bacon Explosion! Started with a pack of thick cut bacon. This pack was maple flavored. Next I used a tube of Jimmy Dean spicy sausage. First you weave the bacon strips together to make a mat. Then you make a bed of sausage to go on the bacon mat. Pre-cook some pieces of bacon and crumble them on the bed of sausage. Roll the sausage toward one end, then roll the whole thing back. Some like putting this in a smoker but it takes a long time that way. I baked it in the oven slowly about 250 to get the sausage done then bumped it up to 300 to crisp the bacon more. Flip it occasionally to get it even.

    Enjoy

My! What a nice ash you have!

No matter where you go, there you are!

Hmmmmmmm ...... biscuits and some soppin' gravy.

I'm gonna try it at home when I got on vacation this summer, only I think I'll try it with some seasoned cubed beef and on the grill.

Default Here's my shot at this Feat...Part 1

    Brothers,

I attempted this feat today for a dinner we were hosting for some friends. Wife and I have a group of friends that we meet up every other wednesday for dinner. More info and explanation on this in my blog at:

    http://www.cigarsmokers.com/entries/...king-Tradition

Anyways, I decided this would be a perfect ocassion for the amazing bacon explosion and I photographed my progress. Enjoy:

Here are the ingredients. The only change was that instead of using sausage, we decided to use ground beef (wife's choice).

    Here is the Bacon weave:

Here is the bacon weave with condiment, I used Louisiana Cajun Seasoning in honor of the Saints victory

Laid out the ground beef, cooked bacon, and I added a few Jalapenos (it's a Texas thing )

I decided to play it safe since my friends have big appetites so I made a second one just in case

Rolled and ready! This was probably the trickiest part since it is very easy for the ground beef to crumble. Patience and steady hands are needed:

I did not have a ruler on hand so I used a different method to measure length....a churchill

PLEASE SEE PART 2 FOR THE CONCLUSION....
