I might do that and put hardboiled eggs in the middle.

I wonder if I could make a full sized bacon blanket using that weave technique...

Bacon weave is also a great way to roast a venison backstrap!

    Looks good!
Is this safe to try at home? Without parental supervision?

Alright, I knew there were some bacon lovers here

How long does it take to cook at each stage?
That was the first one I tried, so was still experimenting. I did it at 250 for about an hour, turning it halfway. Bacon just wasn't crisping up so that's when I bumped it to 300. I think it might have been about another half hour before it browned up nice. You might could just start at 300 to shorten the cooking time and just keep an eye on it.
My! What a nice ash you have!

T-shirt that says "I would eat a baby if it came with bacon on it" - yikes, I love bacon, but probably not quite that much...

Hmmmmmmm ...... biscuits and some soppin' gravy.

I'm gonna try it at home when I got on vacation this summer, only I think I'll try it with some seasoned cubed beef and on the grill.

Default Here's my shot at this Feat...Part 1

    Brothers,

I attempted this feat today for a dinner we were hosting for some friends. Wife and I have a group of friends that we meet up every other wednesday for dinner. More info and explanation on this in my blog at:

    http://www.cigarsmokers.com/entries/...king-Tradition

Anyways, I decided this would be a perfect ocassion for the amazing bacon explosion and I photographed my progress. Enjoy:

Here are the ingredients. The only change was that instead of using sausage, we decided to use ground beef (wife's choice).

    Here is the Bacon weave:

Here is the bacon weave with condiment, I used Louisiana Cajun Seasoning in honor of the Saints victory

Laid out the ground beef, cooked bacon, and I added a few Jalapenos (it's a Texas thing )

I decided to play it safe since my friends have big appetites so I made a second one just in case

Rolled and ready! This was probably the trickiest part since it is very easy for the ground beef to crumble. Patience and steady hands are needed:

I did not have a ruler on hand so I used a different method to measure length....a churchill

PLEASE SEE PART 2 FOR THE CONCLUSION....

    Final product:

    Yes, I made them!

    Ready for the oven fellas:

My method was 30 minutes @ 280 degress (flip twice), 20 minutes @ 310 degs (flip twice), 5 minutes at 350 degrees (flip twice) and here is the outcome:

    Time to enjoy:

Thanks to MemphisFred for decreasing my lifespan by about 17 days I thouroughly enjoyed this. BTW, all pictures were taken with my cell phone camera. I love this thing! Dinner was followed by a Padron 4000

Was it good? How spicey hot is that combination? It's an intersting idea I can see a lot of different combinations.

Different combinations indeed...so how was it with the cajun rub, beef & penos?

    Loved the ruler btw
