    Default PorLarranaga Cuban Grade Maduro

    Vitola: Double Corona

    Hello Again BOTL,

This is one great inexpensive cigar and I thought it was definitely worth a review. It was gifted to me so generously by a new friend. I have only smoked one of these... so far.

Note: I wrote this review not knowing the smoke was in the "yard gar" price range.

As soon as I took the cigar out of the cello and looked, felt and sniffed I knew it was not a "normal" yard gar" AT ALL. Construction was great and wrapper looked, felt and smelled luscious.
After a few hits an unbelievable film is left in your mouth, creamy, luscious, rich, full, no harshness at all
the taste and oily film is coating my tongue and the roof of my mouth WOW MMMMM
I taste milk chocolate, creamy... very smooth rich leathery overtones, about half way through and it is getting a little stronger gorgeous wrapper, sultry silky brown wrapper tastes just like it looks extravagantly luscious Oh My God (over and over) this cigar tastes extravagantly wonderful. This is not your average "cheap cigar" by a light year.

The second third is turning out phenomenal hints of cocoa milk chocolate, smooth rich just absolutely wonderful, the coating in my mouth is unbelievable tastes leathery, I cannot put my finger on all of these flavors, now it is starting to get a little acidic. I taste like a mellow nutmeg heavy leather now at the end of the second third, rich smell like a brand new 100% leather baseball glove.

The last third is really getting acidic now, but in a very good way, still unbelievable toasted almond flavor now with heavy leather overtones again, taste the luscious tobacco now in a good way. This is just a leathery creamy luscious good smoke great tobacco flavor in the third third this is heavenly the burn is perfect the burn got off just a little to where I thought I was going to have to touch it up, but the cigar corrected itself because I slowed my smoking down, it is just a phenomenal finish I cannot say enough about this smoke, the ash is beautiful this is wonderful, how satisfying can a cigar be? Even at yard Gar prices this is NOT a yard gar.

I taste a lot of cocoa in this one, and a tad of coconut, and some mellow spices that I cannot detect in the last third, and the nose exhale has been exquisite through the whole cigar OMG I never thought I would say OMG ever again but I did and sobeit. I thought I was over that fifteen years ago. LOL

The room smells wonderful!!!!! Seriously. This has been almost a two hour smoke OMG just a tad sweet at the very end I am burning my fingers, tongue, and mouth. One hour and fifty minutes to be exact.

What a finish and what a smoke. For the price ( or even if they were more expensive ) this is a great smoke. sssh don't tell PorLarranaga or any vendors how good this one is they may raise the price!
I am ordering a box ASAP.

Nice review, and I'll have to agree that these are seriously underrated and very well worth the price if you can find them.

Great review. Por Larranaga's are one of my favorite cigars. I have never smoke a non ISOM one. But after reading your review, I can't wait.

Also, nice Gold-Top LP in the back ground. I've been known to pick a song or two!

A fellow picker! Jam on brother. That is a custom made just for me LP copy. I sent a blank johnson body to "Dan Torres Engineering" in California and specified every piece of hardware down to the screws on the keys and he did a awesome job. PM me if you want to talk guitars =) or we can move this conversation to the appropriate section of the forum.
