Good read Shelby. I don't have anything near as good or nothing as personal as that, it all comes second hand.

There is an old house about 2 miles from where I was born and raised in Louisiana. I used to ride my bike by it as a kid, and often wondered about it because it was empty even then. It had a long driveway that went up to the house, not far off the road was a big archway over the drive that said HillTop House. You could just barely see the house from the road partly due to how far back it sat and the other was all the trees blocking it, but it looked pretty spooky and forboding even back then. Just recently it made the news again when some youngsters went snooping around. They ran out of there fast, half scared to death and reported to the cops of hearing screaming and babies crying. Don't remember hearing when exactly but I think probably 40's, maybe 50's, there was an illegal abortion clinic in the house. So they say the screaming is of the women and the crying is of the souls of the babies that were aborted. It keeps getting stirred up ever so often as a new generation of kids hear about it and have to go visit. Google Hilltop House, West Monroe, La.

As kids, I think we all have heard stories. One of the stories I heard about was North of us across the Arkansas line in Crosset. The story goes that a light appears on the railroad track at night, there had been a train wreck a long time ago and the light is susposed to be the conductor swinging his lantern and looking for his head that was cut off in the wreck. There was some guys in school, said they went up there to check it out and that they did see a light. You know how stories go, depending on which one telling the story, the light would either just disappear or keep moving away from them if they approached it. I've heard one explanation that it was swamp gas...yeah, that's it, good answer...LOL.

Another one was also in Arkansas, not to far from us. This one was in Fouke, and involved a bigfoot / sasquatch type critter running around over there. There was even a movie made about it...The Legend of Boggy Creek. Again some guys from school went over there hunting for it, although they never did see anything. Hmmmm, as I write this, I never really thought about it but I can't remember if some of the same guys were in both stories. Chicken shits probably just went out and got drunk and never went anywhere

As small children we used to have bedtime scare tactics...something to make us lay down shut up and go to sleep, haha. One was if we don't go to sleep "Bloody Bones" that lived in the attic would come get us. Have no clue where that one comes from. The other comes from our CoonAss side of the family I think...it's beware of Loup Garou (Cajun French for werewolf) that lived in the swamps and that it would come get us misbehaving kids. Wow, it's a wonder we weren't all fucked up in the head after some of that crap.

Ok, that's about all I've got.
