Kinky and the Trifunador are down. I guess I should smoke that Cusano now since it's due first...Is there going to be a quiz?

I had an idea that I'd like to throw out to you guys. What if we were to review a brand from top to bottom? For example, let's take Oliva. We could do the following:
    MBIII
    Serie O-G-or S
FdO's...either originals, or the other varieties.
Add in the myriad other products that Oliva makes for others and you have a crap-load of cigars in a wide range of prices. Even if you stick to only Oliva labeled cigars....pretty nice $$ range of sticks.

This could be done for a heck of a lot of brands. LaAurora.....Fuente......Camacho....Tat.....Padron ....etc.

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting.

I say we start with Padron and the maduro millennium sticks. I put myself out there and take at least two. Make sure to shop around for best price.

I like how you think! I'm game. Why don't we line up AF next with some original Opus an Anejo?

Honestly, though this brand sampling sounds pretty cool. And Padrons are always good!

That sounds like a great idea, and it sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

I like it - this would help simplify the voting too.

One other rendition of the Mega Review that I was pondering the other day was to include one stick in everyone's package that would not have a band - so that stick would be a "blind" review. Or perhaps we make a future Mega Review be the "blind" version, where every cigar is a blind review.

Maybe MEGA Review III is the "ashauler single manufacturer" version, and then MEGA Review IV is the "blind" version.

I like the blind review from the no-preconceptions standpoint, but how would you keep track of which cigar is which? There would have to be special tags or baggies for each one to keep it straight...

I like the single brand idea and the allowance for different price ranges.

I would name the baggies... Alfa, Bravo, Charlie...

Woah, can I smoke one of the cigars from this review first before we start planning on the next one?

Actually both ideas sound great but I prefer the single brand review. The reason is that when I review a cigar (or smoke one for my first time) I like to read other reviews and compare my opinion to them. I understand that a blind review is something that will give a more pure opinion of a product because you aren't biased by other reviews. Sometimes however reading someone else’s review will point out subtle nuisances that I may have overlooked or missed. I'm still a newb so eventually I may notice these things on my own but for now, having an idea of what I'm smoking helps me out.

I like the blind thingy too. Each "version" could be done multiple times as well so it could be a rotating kind of thing right along with the "standard" mega-review.

Could be combined too....top to bottom of the brand (which is known), unmarked, guess which one is which as far as price range goes. Would add a fun element, and not detract from the review portion either.

I like this, you could even add a contest to who pick the price points of the blind cigars best. Each participant sends one cigar to the host and the guy who picks the closest gets them. This could turn into a really fun idea.
