Back Again
In 36 hours we pulled around 400 people out of flood zones. People are driving their cars past barricades into the flood water. They then call us for help when their car stalls out. We help them out and issue them a nice ticket for disobeying a traffic sign.
We have county roads washed away, bridges gone, and houses under water. The city is in the same situation. Fortunately all people are now accounted for that we know were missing. The weather is clear and warm now. The rivers have crested and should be going down.
Clean up is ongoing. Repair could take a year or more. I'm tired but things are looking up.

You gotta have someone like our "submarine commander" on your department. He was told NOT to drive down certain roads because of the depth of the water. Not 15 minutes later he took a BRAND SPANKING NEW squad car down the impassible road, and filled it with water to the bottom of the windows.
