Sounds good. I'll let you know if I make it out to the east side.

Greetings from Eastern Washington State! Welcome to the boards. The people are cool, the atmosphere is laid back, and finding a good smoke is easy.

I will have to admit that I'm like you when it comes to liking the darker things: black coffee, stout beer (ever had a Mackeson's?), and black cigars. I started out liking Macanudos, but they aren't much cup of tea these days. Darker the wrapper, the more I like it.

And if for some reason you ever end up in a place called Kennewick in Washington State, we have a disc golf course that is rated one of the hardest in the state, and a lot of fun to play. Mind you, I haven't played disc golf in ages.....have to change that this summer.

Enjoy yourself man, and, if you ever find yourself on the TV Highway running through Beaverton, be sure to wave at Harvey the Rabbit. You can't miss him as he's about 50 ft. tall! (I grew up in the Beaverton/Hillsboro/Aloha area, and though I haven't lived there for many of years, Harvey is a great landmark to navigate by.)

    Best,
    Christopher

I second this. It takes a bit of time to get down there, but it is SO well worth it. We went when there was still snow on the ground. Gorgeous. There is a trail that leads up to a fire lookout tower - totally worth it, and not that bad of a hike. Unbelievable view.

Slight thread derailment, but you'll find over time that wrapper color isn't necessarily indicative of flavor profile.

Sorry....no thread derailment, no matter how slight, intended. My apologizes on that one.

You're good. I meant that it was I that was getting off-topic.

No worries on the potential derailment. I appreciate the insights.

The variety out there is so overwhelming. I was hoping that it would be easier to manage if I could just have a blanket "I like dark wrappers best" preference, but I guess that ain't going to happen (plus, I'll likely end up denying myself of some different albeit still good smokes).

Reminds me of beer. When I first started really appreciating good beer, I found that I almost exclusively drank the darker stuff (stouts, the occasional porter and fruit beers), but in the last couple years, I've learned to appreciate most of the various styles and the different flavors they bring.

I'm looking forward to doing the newbie sampler later.
