Summer heat and bad decisions...

I am still baffled at how some people still do not have Central AC. It weirds me out...

In Honduras, no house has central AC. Just the little window units in each room. And even at that, dad would only allow us to turn it on at night because of the cost of electricity.

Few people have AC out here but it barely breaks 90 at the hottest on this side of the mountains. We have so many large trees around us the downstairs stays about 60-65 all summer.

I made a good decision today...Drink some beer and hang out in the AC. I'm am going stir crazy being off work. The beer helps.

I did that for a year with my back surgery.....I Was going bananas. It was NOT a good thing. Hang in there Sarge....you'll pull through! The first 2-3 months were kinda fun...the last 7 about killed me from boredom.

We hit 113 today in Western Phoenix... I do not know what I'd do w/o central AC in the house or even a car w/o AC here.

The kids love to be in the pool in the hot sun, but even then it's still too hot for me. I hit the pool at about 4:30 - 5:00 when there some shade from the house over half the pool. The pool temp is 80 but even that is still 30+ degrees cooler than the air temp.

I am technically from Honduras(was born there and lived there for 5 months afterwards LOL)

Been down there a bunch. I have NO CLUE how they can deal with it! Drives me insane. Therefore I dont stay with family down there cause I can t sleep in the heat! UGH!!!

It's been brutual in Jacksonville recently. You know the saying "it's not the heat it's the humidity"? I now subscribe to that fully. Whenever it is 98% humidity I run from my AC house, to my AC car, to my AC work and then back. I'm a golfer and refuse to even go hit range balls right now it's so hot. This sucks!

It's 105 here in Tucson today and I still haven't turned the AC on (we have dual cooling and I run the Evap as long as I can - what a cheapskate I am). My home was built in 55 and is made of Adobe - which has a decent R value and thermal storage capacity. But any day now the wifey will start groaning and I'll have to switch over to the AC...

...it's a dry heat - you know, like an oven.
