    Default Tatuaje Black ~ Tubos

Other's reviews (None found, searching the Reviews Forum)

    Smoke: Tatuaje Black ~ Tubos
    Drink: Yuengling Porter
Tunes: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

    Wrapper: Nicaraguan
    Binder: Nicaraguan
    Filler: Nicaraguan
    Draw: Medium
    Burn: Good
    Misc: 60min

Pre-light: Black aluminum tube (duh). Inside is a Colorado maduro shade, somewhat bumpy wrapper torpedo shaped cigar. Light veins, and an uncut foot. Spicy, and a ring of sweet tobacco on the cut prelight taste. Musky scent of tobacco.

    Light: Easy. Medium draw.

1st 3rd: Spicy. Peppery. Gave it a purge already. Not sure what’s going on, but I’m not getting any other flavors right now. I’m now getting a little bit of a floral essence now, but not much else.

Ash: Stacked nice. Tiny pepper spots on a crisp white ash background. Holds on for a good 1 ½”

2nd 3rd: Peppery, and that’s about all I’m getting. Maybe I have a dud here, but it’s just kind of bland. Some floral notes in the distant background, but gave it another purge, and I’m just left with an ashy taste. Maybe the 3rd will pull through.

3rd 3rd: Hasn’t changed yet. Some oily / minty hints, but not strong. Still the pepper. Pepper pepper pepper all the time.

Overall impression: A disappointment, unfortunately. If this is Pete’s blend, I’m not sure what he’s doing, or why he didn’t like his other lines. The tube is still cool….

I've run into this one and the red tube as well (if I'm not mistaken). I've been tempted to get one but for some reason I still reach for the regular tatuaje line. Do you think you'll try the red tube?

Shit, I'm sorry Will. Sounds like you got a dud. These aren't my fav tats but I've had a better experiencewith them then you just described.

The red tubes(veracu) are much better. But my favorite line is still the classic cabinet brown labels.

Hey man, no worries. Maybe my taster was off last night too.

Thanks for the review - I have some resting in the humi still... I doubt age would do anything though, we'll see.

I'm going to smoke one tonight from the same box. Hopefully the entire box isn't bad. The 3 that I had were from my local. I haven't smoked on from this box yet.
I smoked one of the Veracus on Wednesaday and it was good.

Age won't do anything, IMO. They are pretty mild to begin with.

I enjoy the regular tat line. I might stop by the B&M today and get one of those 'Veracus' for tonight. Good to know you enjoyed that one Logan.

What do you mean by "the regular line?"

Should've been more specific. The cabinet brown labels are my typical choice. My B&M doesn't have a wide selection so thats what I meant by "the regular line". Just recently they introduced the tubos. Let me rephrase and say "my local B&M's available tat line".

    Better?
