Thread: Introduction.

  1. #1

    Default Introduction.

    Hello everyone.

I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. I am new to the hobby and was looking for a resource to find information and to ask any questions as they arise.

    Thanks,

    Josh

    Hi Denver.

I started on a cigar that this guy was hand rolling I believe the name of his little cigar company was black label cigars or something like that.. It was something that I enjoyed. I recently smoked a CAO gold which I liked and I have a couple cigars on the way that I ordered. A CAO Criollo and a turano cigar. Like I said I'm pretty new to this. Do you have any cigars that you might recommend?

    Thanks,

    Josh

    Welcome from NW PA.
This forum is loaded with info, but, please, let search be your intimate friend.

There is a common thought process around her to read more and post less...this way, you can kinda sit back and watch all the questions being asked and all the replies.

Check out the newbie sampler thread in the Exchange section of the forum. Good way to get a wide variety of smokes to try for very reasonable coin.

Those are some milder cigars. Look at the Fonseca Vintage line, for the money I really like those a lot. If I had a bit more money to spend, I'd go with a Dunhill, something in the corona line.

While this mantra is true, it's my opinion that it's unreasonable to ask someone to search similar cigars based on his specific taste preferences of other cigars. To me, that's just asking a question. You have the choice to answer it or not. I think that might be where the "read more/post less" thought process comes into play.

If he had simply asked what kinds of cigars he should smoke, it would be quite different. But maybe it's just me.

I agree, I didn't mean to post this in that aspect, just a general information type thing.

As for the suggestion, I didn't offer any because I was not really sure of any to suggest.
    Sorry for the confusion.

    Welcome from Jax, Florida!

I subscribe to the "read more, post less" theory. I am still a newb on the forum and have learned that the search bar is amazing. There are so many great posts on this forum that there is very few reasons to start a new post.

You should try out the Newb trade, I did it when I first started and it was awesome. You can even mention what you like to a FOG and they will often develop a sampler for you based on that request that will branch you out a little bit.

I think you're mixing up "start a new post" and "start a new thread" It's not "read more, start less threads"
The powers that be might take it all away
