    Default CAO Italia

    previous review

I am not going to write a long review for this smoke... it was just bad... all pepper and dull tobacco, and it drew very hard.

It is possible that this was just a bad smoke (a very very bad smoke) from a bad batch... i do have another in the humidor so hopefully the second one wont be as bad.

I'm a fan of the smaller CAO Italia's "4x30 you get in tin's".
I don't find them that bad at all.

That is very interesting that you had a very bad experience with that stick. I have had them and they were always enjoyable. Hmmm guess that proves you can get a bad stick in just about any brand. Hope the next one is better.

i have yet to find a good tinned smoke, i am on the prowl though.

I really hope the next stick is worth it's weight... i was very disappointed with all the compliments CAO gets and you dont find many Italian cigars...

    thanks for the comments.

CAO gets compliments? News to me.

I don't know that I'd call this an "Italian" cigar - from their website:

The robust Italia is an escape with an extra dose of adventure. Made with tobacco from four countries, this full-bodied smoke is wrapped and bound in dark, smooth, Honduran leaves and filled with Peruvian and Nicaraguan tobaccos as well as Habano seed tobacco grown exclusively for CAO in the Benevento region of Italy. Bold, earthy and sweet. Per la dolce vita! (For the sweet life!)

i don't mean this as a slight against Italians, or a joke of any kind... did you guys taste oregano in yours? i got a mouthful of pepper with every puff, and i thought i detected a hint of oregano... good in a sauce, awful in a smoke...

NO i didn't taste it i normally smoke the small ones in the winter so I'm not freezing my ass off trying to finish a larger cigar.
They are a little peppery, but not bad for quick smoke.

It may just be a cigar that your taste buds cant stand.
I would not give it much thought and move on to something else.

That's the plan. I'll update this after I smoke the second one for those who care.

    Thanks again.

It's the cigar that turned me onto cigars. I had several of them before even trying others. After going a while without one, trying others, I had a new-found appreciation for just how smooth and tasty the little guy is.

I have it's big brother, the Magnifico (6 x 54 toro), sitting in the humidor. Waiting for the right occasion.
