What is your friend going to do with the tubes?

he is going to use them as molds to make fishing weights for shark fishing, after he pours the lead inside the tubes are just peeled off the lead, a one time use kind of deal.

Not that I care about the wanton destruction of someone else's tubo collection, but why can't your buddy just use a block of hardwood, and drill holes in it as a mold, split and pin the mold, and re-use it?
