The other day it came up in passing between myself and a new co-worker that we both enjoy cigars. A few days later he brought me a few Montecristo Platinum Rothchild's. When I got home I took one out of the tube to admire and noticed that it had visible mold spotting in different areas of the wrapper. I checked the other one, and it did as well. I don't know if he gave me these from his personal supply, or might have bought them to give to me. Should I tell him? If I bought cigars as a gift from somebody, I would want to know so I could go back to where I bought them. Also, if they were from my supply I would want to know if there was something wrong w/my stash that I hadn't noticed. I certainly wouldn't expect anything back in place of the moldy cigars, and don't want to seem ungrateful. Should I say anything?
Mold on tubed cigars is a common problem. I'm a fucking fanatic about the care of my cigars and still have some spots of mold on a few RYJ tubos from time to time ( Non CC). Mostly is white mold not the dreaded blue/green shit. Just wipe it off with a damp paper towel and smoke them.
It will always be a battle a day between those who want maximum change and those who want to maintain the status quo.
