Yep, what Kevin said.
My shop has events maybe every other week, but a lot of them are events I'm not particularly interested in the product. They had a Ashton tasting event the one time. You got 3 robustos, and you had to light all three at the same time, and rotate smoking them while the group discussed the tasting notes. I'm pretty sure we all failed, but it was fun.
And yeah, the deals abound. I got some Ashton aged maduro #50s (I think, they were the robustos) for under 4 bucks a piece by the time I walked out of there.
I've also heard the RP events are pretty good. I'm still waiting for a semi-local Padron event....

sweet, i'll have to go for sure.
well if my managers let me hahaha... i do know RP put out a new line recently
RP puts out lines regularly - nothing new there...
And RP is one of the brands that seems to really like to do events. I don't recall ever hearing any complaints.
Any other brands that seem to love to do events.
Being in Denver, and new to the cigar scene in general I don't hear much about cigar events.
Any special etiquette I should take into account? I'm assuming that it would good to smoke the cigars I get at the event, but what about bringing my own RP cigars to the event?
Also, my girlfriend was thinking about going with me, because her father is into the RP lines, and was thinking about buying him some cigars at this event. Anyone think it would be a problem if she smoked a cigarette while we are there, as the shop is a tobacco shop in general and sells them? Normally I would ask that she didn't but because she's wanting to buy from them, and the shop has no issue with it, I'm at a loss.
I am not the dress up kind of guy. Jeans ,t shirt ,flip flops. Walk in like you own the place but dont be a douche, smoke whatever the fuck you feel like and buy whatever you feel like. Tell the GF to smoke her cigs ,anybody besides the shop owner says a fucking word quietly roll your Kershaw in and out of your fingers and grin . Ive been to Charlotte events where there were blue collar dudes like me all the way up to some pretty powerful local people and it was a blast.
